Movie star and musician, Kevin Bacon, brings his star power to the THS farm for a sold out rock-n-roll celebration for the Saratoga community

Saratoga Springs, NY – Therapeutic Horses of Saratoga will host its second annual Charity Benefit Concert on October 5th, 2024 featuring The Bacon Brothers. The event will take place from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM at the Therapeutic Horses of Saratoga farm, located at 683 Lake Ave, Saratoga Springs, NY.

This year’s concert promises an unforgettable evening of live music, rain or shine, for an audience of horses and humans at the THS farm. In addition to The Bacon Brothers, the sold-out audience of attendees will enjoy performances by two local favorites, Rich Ortiz and The Wallies Band featuring Gianna Robustiano, who will open the show. Attendees will enjoy the performance under the stars in a unique farm setting, complemented by a selection of food and drink available for purchase from local vendors, including Fierro's Pizza Food Truck, Old Tavern Farm Winery, Druthers Brewing Company, DeCrescente Distributing Company, and Broadway Coffee Co.

Supporting a Worthy Cause

Proceeds from the concert will support Therapeutic Horses of Saratoga’s mission to care for retired racehorses who provide life-changing equine-assisted therapies to individuals in the community. These programs benefit a diverse group of participants, including individuals undergoing therapy, Service Members and Veterans, children, families, and couples.

“Our farm is a sanctuary for both the horses who live here and the people who find healing within our gates,” said Dr. Erin Christopher Sisk, Co-Founder of Therapeutic Horses of Saratoga. “This event is crucial in supporting our efforts to sustain the care of these incredible horses and continue offering these much-needed mental health programs.”

For over two decades, The Bacon Brothers have been captivating audiences with their dynamic blend of folk, rock, soul, and country music, which they describe as "Forosoco." The band, formed by Kevin Bacon, renowned for his work in film and television, and his brother Michael Bacon, an Emmy-winning composer, has built a reputation as serious musicians, bringing together decades of experience and skill into their unique sound.

Silent Auction Preview

Guests at the Charity Benefit Concert will enjoy a very special silent auction curated to celebrate the Saratoga community with an array of locally-sourced artistic, health, wellness and outdoor experiences designed for families and friends to enjoy together. Among the highlights are two original art pieces created by internationally renowned, locally based artists, Janet Crawford and Frankie Flores.

Ms. Crawford has created an original 20” by 24” oil on canvas titled "The Spirit of Connection". This stunning artwork was inspired by a powerful therapy interaction between one of our participants and our beloved horse, Forest Spirit, also known as “Spirit” on the farm.

Mr. Flores will share two of his colorful equine-themed pieces, "The 4 Square" a 20" by 30" limited edition silk screen framed under glass and "The Club House" a 24" by 38" canvas giclee.  Mr. Flores will also be selling signed prints of the artwork he created and shared in support of the Druthers Brewing Company beer, called HorsePlay, which was brewed by Druthers and distributed by DeCrescente with proceeds benefitting THS.

Shareable experiences take center stage in the bountiful silent auction offerings provided by Saratoga community individuals and organizations including a bundle of membership and art classes by Saratoga Arts and a children’s art class taught local street artist, Dave Pappas; a sailing experience offered by the Saratoga Sailing School; a pickleball lesson & play package offered by Legacy Pickleball Club; two ticket packages provided by Caffe Lena and Universal Preservation Hall; a whisky tasting experience provided by First Fill Spirits; a private photographic portrait session with a beloved pet by Tina Marie DeVincenzo; a family tour of Dakota Ridge llama farm; a polo playing lesson and Argentine asado offered by the Saratoga Polo School; spa services from Sacred Spa + Wellness, and the list of health, wellness, art, music and fun-focused Saratoga signature experiences goes on and on.

Nationally recognized Thoroughbred racing historians, Brien Bouyea and Michael Veitch will be on hand to sign copies of their book, The Travers: Saratoga’s Midsummer Derby, 1864 – 2023. This comprehensive coffee table book was described by Thoroughbred Racing Commentary’s Charles Hayward as “the best racing book since Seabiscuit.” A portion of the proceeds of each book sold will benefit Therapeutic Horses of Saratoga.
